California Proposition 65
What Proposition 65 is
California's Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, known as Proposition 65, requires businesses to give a warning before exposing people to chemicals on the State of California's list of chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.
Why our labels carry a warning
All three of our formulas contain formaldehyde, used as a preservative. PAPALOTE™ liquid laundry detergent also contains cocamide DEA (cocamide diethanolamine), a foam booster. Both are on the Proposition 65 list as chemicals known to cause cancer, so every Baja Supply label carries a CA WARNING.
