Pails or pallets: how to order 5-gallon cleaning products

Order any number of 5-gallon pails, with no minimum. How a pallet of 36 pails and a 26-pallet truck work, and how the quote builder's counter shows them.

By Baja Supply 4 min read

Two stacks of shrink-wrapped pallets of plain white 5-gallon pails at the edge of a loading dock, a yellow pallet jack beside them and a stucco wall across the yard.

You can order any number of pails, starting at one, in any mix of products. A pallet holds 36 pails and a full truck carries 26 pallets, or 936 pails; the counter shows both for reference. There are no prices on this website: our team confirms the price, freight and conditions on each quote.

The pail

Every Baja Supply product comes in the same 19 L pail with a lid, holding 5 US gallons (18.9 L) net. There are three lines: PAPALOTE™ liquid laundry detergent in 17 varieties, SIESTA™ fabric softener in 7, and CAZUELA™ liquid dish soap. You can see them all on the products page.

Two more items are sold by the piece: the same pail empty, in four colors, and a pump dispenser that fits our 5-gallon pails.

Pails, pallets and a truck

Unit What it holds What it means for your order
Pail 5 US gal (18.9 L) net The unit you order. There is no minimum.
Pallet 36 pails Any mix of products. Shown for reference only.
Full truck 26 pallets, 936 pails Shown for reference; for a larger order, your quote sets out more than one delivery.

You never have to fill a pallet. If you want one, it can be mixed: for example, 18 pails of PAPALOTE™, 12 of SIESTA™ and 6 of CAZUELA™ make one pallet of 36.

How the counter works

In the quote builder, each Add button puts one pail in your list. Next to each line, a +1 pallet (36 pails) button adds 36 pails of that product at once, and the minus and plus buttons change the count one pail at a time.

The counter reads your list as you go:

  • Pails: how many pails are in your list.
  • Pallets: the pallet spaces your pails take, with a partly filled pallet counted as one. One pail shows as one pallet; 37 pails show as two, one full and one holding 1 of 36.
  • Truck fill: those pallet spaces out of the 26 on a truck.
  • Last pallet: how many of its 36 places are taken.

Empty pails and pump dispensers are sold by the piece and do not change the pallet count.

When the last pallet is only partly full, the builder tells you how many more pails would fill it and offers to fill it with a product already in your list. You can take the offer or keep the list as it is. The builder says it plainly: "You can send your request as it is." If your list goes beyond one truck, the counter shows how many trucks it would take, and your quote sets out the deliveries.

Your list stays saved in your browser until you send it or clear it.

From a list to a quote

  1. Add products and pails. Start from one pail and mix any products.
  2. Send your request. Tell us where in California, Nevada or Arizona to deliver, and when you need it. Sending a request is free and does not place an order.
  3. Receive your quote. We reply by email or phone with your prices and payment terms. Our team confirms the price and every condition of the sale on each quote: the products, quantities, prices, freight, payment terms and how long the quote is valid.
  4. Confirm your order. Accept the quote in writing, and our team confirms your order and then the delivery day with you. Nothing is paid on this website; payment terms are set for each account.

Nothing on this website, in a price list or in an earlier quote sets a price, a delivery date, or free or included freight. Only your quote does.

When the pallet count helps

The pallet count is not a minimum and not a price. It helps you picture the delivery: how many pallet spaces to clear at your door, and whether the order fits on one truck. When you send your request, tell us your receiving hours, whether deliveries need an appointment, and whether you have a loading dock or need a liftgate. The request has a field for this.
